John Allen Cotten

1960 – Dec. 5, 2021

John Allen Cotten, 61, passed away Dec. 5, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Crawfordsville in 1960 to Donald and Hazel Morley Cotten.

He attended New Market Schools. He married Karen Adair. They had a daughter, Andrea Cotten. He then married Jane Norieze, and they had two sons, Johnny and Ryan Cotten.

He had worked on a shrimp boat in Florida, as a Cook at Red Lobster in California, at his brother’s tank lining business and at Raybestos.

Survivors include his mother, Hazel (William) Bartley; his father, Donald (Delores) Cotten; children, Andrea Woods, Johnny Cotten and Ryan Cotten; three brothers, Tom Cotton, Ronald Cotten and Tim (Jessie) Cotton; two grandsons, Hunter and Gunner Woods; three stepsisters, Jennifer (Shawn) Fyffe and her children, Faith, Kristen and Riley Fyffe, Tammy Patrick and her children, Meredith and Nolan Patrick and Stephan (Chad) Rood and her daughter, Shianna; He also has a dear friend, Peggy Garren. 

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at a later date, with interment at Freedom cemetery. Hunt & Son Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
