Wabash Student, Moco Resident Gains Valuable Experience with theCity of Crawfordsville This Summer

Richard Pan

Wabash College student Richard Pan is gaining experience with Mayor Todd Barton and the City of Crawfordsville through a summer internship.

Pan, a Montgomery County resident, is the son of JianHui Wang and ChangBin Pan of Crawfordsville. He is majoring in philosophy, political science, and economics at Wabash College, and will be a junior next fall.

“I am excited to spend the summer interning with Mayor Barton and experiencing the city’s inner workings,” Pan said. “I hope to learn the necessary skills you need to become a successful leader and learn more about what it takes to make Crawfordsville a great place to live and work.”

As an intern, Pan will attend community meetings, boards, and commissions with Mayor Barton and assist with various city projects throughout the summer.

“Students like Richard have a lot to gain from an internship with the city,” Barton said. “From building professional connections to developing communication and time management skills, which can help them as they launch their careers. Throughout the summer, Richard will be a valuable member of the team, and I look forward to seeing what ideas he has and how he plans to apply himself this summer.”

Each year, the City of Crawfordsville offers paid internship opportunities to college students during their summer breaks. For more information on the City of Crawfordsville, visit www.crawfordsville.net.
