Glen Edward Taylor

July 8, 1936 – March 17, 2023

Glen Edward Taylor, age 86 of Crawfordsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville. He was born in Montgomery County on July 8, 1936 to the late Charles Taylor & Iva (Sipple) Newby.

Glen attended Ladoga High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked from the time he was 12 years old but retired after 20 plus years as a custodian at Wabash College. He had a great sense of humor and was always joking around. He would literally give you his last dime and “clip”. He was always tinkering with something and loved riding around on his hover round wearing his hi-visible vest flying his American flag. He also loved animals, was always helping others, was active in his church at Grace & Mercy, and loved spending time with this family. He was one of the sweetest men you could ever meet.

He is survived by his four daughters, Melissa (Doug Lejeune) Howard, Romona Royal, Glenna (Tim) Florence, and Ragena Taylor; a brother, Curtis (Wendy) Newby; a sister, Alma Hole; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Taylor; his mother, Iva Newby; his step-father, Charles Newby; a son, Joseph Taylor; a daughter, Vikki Hoke; two sisters, Helen Williams and Betty Stonebraker; and a brother-in-law, William Hole.

Cremation was chosen with a visitation at Grace & Mercy Ministries, 257 W Oak Hill Road, in Crawfordsville on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 12 p.m. till the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating and military honors by the United States Navy and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.
