William Albert Schlicher

April 13, 1940 – March 18, 2023

William Albert Schlicher, age 82 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Bickford of Crawfordsville. He was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on April 13, 1940 to the late Albert Michael & Irene Dorothy (Koellner) Schlicher.

William graduated from St Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Madison, Iowa, then attended St Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa, then graduated from Burlington Junior College in Burlington, Iowa where he met the love of his life, Patricia K. Ford and they later married on Jan. 4, 1964. He was a Sears Catalog Store Manager for 25 years, starting in Fairfield, Iowa then transferred to Crawfordsville. He then went on to work as the Service Manager at Larry Cummings Olds & Horner Automotive. He loved sports and going to the Coaches Corners on Wednesday nights, enjoyed fishing, jig saw puzzles, playing games, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia; four children, Regina (Sean) Royce of Indianapolis, Kurtis Schlicher of Lafayette, Tiffany (Tony) Bowen of Crawfordsville, and Blair Schlicher of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Danielle, Kaitlin (Justin), Jacob, Laine, Benjamin, and Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Sophia; one brother, Stanley (Susan) Schlicher of Iowa; two sisters, Alice (Roger) Hoenig and Barbara (Joe) Merschman; and a brother-in-law, James (Janis) Ford, all of Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Schlicher.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville, on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 3 pm till the time of the memorial service at 6 pm.
